Tucker Max: The Anti-Lawyer | Bitter Lawyer

Tucker Max: The Anti-Lawyer | Bitter Lawyer

"I hope they have beer in Hell" has been a cable staple filler for months.
I never watched it. Not that I regret it after reading about the guy it's
about, but this does dovetail with the post I made about Law School
Curriculum and the discussion over whether it is actually doing what
it is supposed to do.

Law Librarian Blog: Girls (Strike out that) Law Profs Gone Wild

Law Librarian Blog: Girls (Strike out that) Law Profs Gone Wild

VERY Interesting thread on commentary regarding re-assessment of the current Law School curriculum and how effective it is(n't) and launching law-ready students.

It also touches on the subject of anonymous blogging. Rule of thumb is that anonymous blogs are written with an axe to grind; a troll who can no longer access the forums or people they were annoying and the information is suspect.

HOWEVER, there are exceptions: when it could personally damage someone's career or put them in harm's way (and not just imagined). If telling like it is, using facts and solid content will get you penalized, then I can see the merit of being anonymous.

Why public law libraries exist and are important

"The AALL Code of Ethics, adopted in 1979, states that "'law librarians have
a duty actively to promote free and effective access to legal information,'
as printed in the fall 1979 issue of LLJ." Robert J. Nissenbaum defined
"...legal socialization as the ability to understand the legal consequences of
one's actions and predicted that legal socialization would enable the
individual to make informed decisions, promoting dispute resolution and
avoiding many legal disputes. State, court, and county law libraries, if
properly supported, could operate as a nationwide network of local legal
information centers.

Tracking, for Profit, Whether You Take Your Drugs--How Wrong Is This? | Consumer Watchdog

FICO, the company that decides your credit score, is now predicting, for profit, whether you're likely to take your prescription drugs on schedule. No matter why FICO says they're doing it (insurance companies are their obvious clients) this is wrong in so many ways that it's hard to know where to start.

This article looks at the firm BART hired to look into the fatal shooting.
Turns out that the firm has a firm bias towards law enforcement personnel.

Look what happens when this man confronts a London rioter - Facebook Scam

Facecrooks is keeping a sharp eye out on the latest exploits in using FB.
Remember, check your security settings, use add-ons in FireFox and
watch out for too good to be true offers. You can choose secure mode on FB.
You will not be able to play games, if you play games on FB, but it is a good idea.

A Good Man | You Offend Me You Offend My Family

Incredible, and true. I really wish we would hurry up and evolve so we can make this the "normal" way to treat others.
